About Us
The Hodgin family moved to this property in May of 1997. The three buildings standing at that time were a run down shed, a little red house, and an open face barn.
We managed to utilize the shed as a Tool Shed. We renovated the Milk Barn into a cafeteria where we host our yearly Bar B- Q and large get togethers.
Our main sources of income for the ranch are hunting leases and the meat and herbs we produce and sell to local health food stores and restaurants (also available to you). Since the beginning there have been a few new buildings which include an Ag Barn for the animals we raise, the Main House we live in, a cabin, and last but not least our Power House.
The power source for our ranch is solar and a diesel generator. The well pump is powered by the generator. The well is on a timer and the water is pumped up the hill behind and above the main house. The ranch's water system is run from a gravity system that feeds all the facilities.
The power house houses the 35,000KW Duetz generator, transformers, inverters, batteries and anything to do with power. Pretty interesting to city folks and great for those who are earth-friendly also. Basics can be challenging at times but very rewarding also.
